Terms

Plain language, because terms nobody reads protect nobody.

What the certificate is

The Babysitting Blueprint issues a certificate of completion. It confirms that a person completed our course and met our published standard — 90% or higher on the full assessment, with all eight mandatory safety questions answered correctly.

What it is not

  • It is not a licence. No babysitting licence exists anywhere in the United States.
  • It is not accredited. No accrediting body exists for babysitting training.
  • It is not a background check and does not include one.
  • It is not a recommendation or endorsement of any individual, and it does not mean we vouch for anyone’s suitability to care for your child.

Families should always meet a sitter, check references, and use their own judgement. A verification page is one input, not a decision.

Assessment and retakes

Three attempts. After a third unsuccessful attempt there is a seven-day wait, and the relevant module must be retaken before trying again. Sharing assessment questions or answers voids a credential.

Expiry and renewal

Certificates are valid for 24 months from the date of certification. After that a verification page shows Expired. Renewal is a shorter refresher plus the current safety assessment.

Revocation

We may revoke a credential for falsified identity, shared assessment content, or misrepresentation of what the certificate means. A revoked credential stops verifying immediately.

Refunds

Full refund within 14 days if you have not completed the assessment.

Content accuracy

Rate data is compiled from published third-party sources and clearly labelled where figures are our own estimates. It is guidance, not a guarantee of what any family will pay. Tax information is general and is not tax advice.
